Friday 16th July at our quarry on Kilaree lane in Threecastles, Mc Keon Stone celebrated 60 years in business with a mass at the quarry by the Parish Priest of Freshford, Fr Seamus Henry.
The 50 employees of Mc Keon Stone came together from the factory in Stradbally, Co Laois and the Threecastles quarry to mark the 60th year since Jimmy Mc Keon from Stradbally, Co Laois set up the business in 1950.
Employees and neighbours from the Kilaree lane participated in special thanksgiving mass that remembered all those former employees who have since passed away.
McKeon Stone is a dimensional stone quarry, supplying the monumental and architectural cut-stone markets in Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. Over 50% of the business is exported.
